Rough Week

This last week was a rough one!  On Monday Carolyn started chemo, her new cocktail is a combination of Herceptin, Perjeta (a fairly new drug) and Taxotere, the last being the one that'll likely have her lose her hair again as well as make her quite sick.  Well as expected on Wednesday chemo struck with a vengeance through Thursday, Friday was a little better and yesterday we thought she was over the worst until evening.  Hopefully today she will turn the corner.  As if chemo isn't bad enough on Tuesday we decided to put Lola to sleep, she was about 13 yrs old and was suffering with arthritis and cancer at the end. Carolyn rescued Lola and Frankie as very small puppies when their mother was killed by a car.  Lola through the years was Carolyn's protector, many would not notice that she would always sit between Carolyn and visitors she didn't know.  We also believe that Lola discovered Carolyn's breast cancer before it was diagnosed, she almost would demand laying her head on Carolyn's chest at night.  It was tough but the right thing to do!
Fall is here the air is cooler (had to turn the heat on) and now looking forward to finishing up a lot of woodworking projects and getting a cheeseburger... or something into Carolyn !  :)
