Well last week was certainly a busy one. You all know some and here's what we know as of now. The maintenance chemo that Carolyn was switched a couple months ago had mixed results. Her CT scan showed that the lymph nodes that were targeted had improved. But, Carolyn was still having a little pain in her neck and was beginning to lose her voice. By last Wednesday her voice was pretty much gone and was getting winded easily. Dr. Reddy told her to come in, and she wound up being admitted for two days. They were able to get a jump on tests and start her treatment. She has another lymph node that's about the size of a golf ball that's pressing on her esophagus. The Radiologist got her fitted with a face mask that keeps her still when being treated and she had her first treatment Friday afternoon. On Monday she starts again and will have a total of 10-15 treatments. Before she's through with that we'll have her biopsy results back. They are testing to see if her hormonal receptors have changed. Originally she was (triple negative), then she was partially (HER2 positive), knowing where she's at makes a difference what chemo she'll get. Regardless this round coming up will include a stronger cocktail meaning more side effects likely.
As you all know this isn't our first rodeo, Carolyn is very healthy and responds very well to treatment, Dr. Reddy is an excellent Dr. and we're fully confident she'll come out on top again.
So, we continue to live life to the fullest!
If you can see the white house on the hill, the lot were thinking of building our log home on is just above and to the left. The picture doesn't do it justice but the elevation is about 2000' with lake and mountain views. We saw some log homes under construction and one fully completed, all very nice, now the wait begins :-)
