Chesapeake 17 Hybrid Day 13

Sunday!  after a so so meal at Longhorn Steakhouse last night and not getting much sleep, I had a lazy morning. Plus I didn't want to fire up the sander too early on a Sunday morning.  Carolyn helped me carefully take the deck off the hull turn it upside down.  I want to clean up the bottom side a bit and then waterproof it with a coat of epoxy.
The footbraces are installed and the hatch covers are glued up to their stiffeners so they'll have the same radius curve as the deck.  Tomorrow if all goes well the deck gets glued to the hull using the epoxy fillet, the boat will be turned upside down and we'll let gravity do its work as the fillet/epoxy cures.

Deck is off ready to install the footbraces.

Underside of the deck is a mess of glue drips, etc., a little sanding before coating it with epoxy.

Footbraces are in! Check that off the list!

Deck sanded and a couple of reinforcing fiberglass strips added.... probably overkill, I can't help it :)

Epoxy is on! notice how the fiberglass is practically invisible?

Cedar strips were glued/epoxy to the underside of the cockpit for reinforcing.

Done for the day!
