It's been awhile since I've updated this blog. Lots have happened since the last update. Scotland voted to remain in the UK, Oil prices fluctuated, summer has passed... I think everyone knows all that.
Anyway, Carolyn's new treatments are similar to her old one's, every three weeks she gets infused with a new drug called Kadcyla, I'll let you all google it, pretty amazing stuff, very similar to the clinical trial she was in a few years ago. The tumor appears to be shrinking and after her third treatment we'll scan and see what progress there is. We had a nice vacation in Fl, we rented the same condo as last year that Marcia watches over. As an early anniversary present we sent Ashley and Josh to Key West on the fast boat. They had a good time even though Jimmy Buffett wasn't there at the time. (It's all a state of mind! :) )
Our friends Donna and Kevin came down from the Tampa area and we did a boil. Marcia will have some good left overs! The weather was perfect the whole time warm days, cool nights and the rain for the most part left us alone.
Today I take Carolyn to the mountains again, last time for this year, then on Wednesday I have to go get her for a blood test (required for her chemo), and get her stitches out (she had a small malignant melanoma on her back), then take her back to the mountains the same day.
Well we've pretty much decided in a year or so we're going to put the house on the market. We're looking for lake front lots here in Lake Arrowhead, or possibly river front on the Coosawattee River, I've read it's very popular with fly fishing, rafting, etc., we've already met with a local company (Sisson) that specializes in log cabins, though now days I don't think cabins is descriptive.
Becca has a new job with a Dentist that really seems to like her abilities, he's a veteran, has other veterans in the practice and likes her being a veteran and a good assistant. Ashley's malpractice case is moving forward, they should hear from the otherside in a matter of days, Hopefully a settlement will be reached, otherwise it's trial time! Josh's work has been bought out by another company, other than some minor changes in how they get things done, seems to be ok.
Some pics... :)
